White Rice

Method
Rice will be cooked 1:2 in broth or water.
- Bring broth or water to boil in sauce pot.
- Meanwhile, rinse white rice in water until the water runs mostly clear.
- Add rice and 2 tbsp salted butter (optional) to boiling broth/water.
- Stir once and cover.
- Cook for 17 minutes or when desired consistency is reached.
- Gently stir (“fork”) the rice, adding more butter as desired.
Notes
For rinsing the rice, some people stir with their hand in a bowl, but I like to put the rice in a sieve and run under the filtered tap, occasionally shaking up the rice.
